CODE-SWITCHING PERFORMED BY ANDOVI DA LOPEZ IN THE VLOG ENTITLED “SHANGHAI NBA VLOG”

This research is analysing the vlog of Andovi da Lopez. Nowadays, bilingualism or multilingualism is a common phenomenon. People usually used code switching from one language into English, because English as an international language of communication.This phenomenon also happen in social media, such as twitter, facebook, snapchat, youtube, and instagram. This research is focus on the codeswitching on the vlog in youtube. The purpose of this research is analysing and describing the type of code-switching that used by the people in the vlog and the reasons of the used of code switching. This research is using the descriptive analysis approach in analyzing the data. This research is using the theory of codeswitching proposed by Holmes (2013). The data is collected by transcribing the vlog. Then, there are several technique of analysis such as listening the audio recording, transcribing the data and divide it into several utterances, choosing the utterances which have the characteristics of code switching, classifying the data based on the types and the reasons of the use of code switching, describing the types and the reason of code switching, and drawing conclusion
